Most of the local Colleges and Universities were establishing the marketing strategy in order to obtain the International students where as the local Cypriot students leave to abroad for studying their Bachelor or Master degree. I’m not a pessimistic but I’m sorry to say that “If you are Asian you should not come for study”. That was my individual point of view.

Potential water crisis of Cyprus in near future

In this summer time, Cyprus require to import water from abroad. Importing from Greece will cost 40 millions euro. Recently, six tankers have been unloaded with 8 million tons of water to Cyprus according to the Financial mirror. The consumption of 70 to 80 percentage by the agriculture sector, 12 percentage utilize by Cypriot residents and 3 to 5 percentage for tourism. The agricultural export necessary more water in order to provide increase export. It would be more required than the Cypriot resident consumption. In fact, the government supported very strongly to agriculture sector sold only at 17 euro cents per cubic meter. The import of water fob price is approximately 5 euro per cubic meter from Greece. ( euro 40 million divided by 8,000,000 cu.m of water is 5 euro per cu.m)

The other import items of luxury goods like BMWs, mobile phone, TV, high quality clothing, etc and the most essential goods for the life required as well. The vessel loaded with water might face with bad weather situation and other obstacle at any time soon. Decisions have to be made by government as quickly as possible. The Cypriot political masters appear fairly relaxed over a difficult situation which can quickly turn into a major crisis.
Fortunately, I'm working on my final thesis recently.I have to leave the country because I can not work after I finish my MBA. Moreover, It is also quite difficult to hunt the job such as the international corporation here in Cyprus by an Asian.

Intercollege ( Larnaca ) Graduation ceremony 27 June 2008

There are three MBA students graduate in 2008. It's clear that the local Cypriot student are not interesting to study at Intercollege Larnaca and mostly they study in abroad. Moreover, the local companies are not employ international students (Asian) after MBA. I've been in Intercollege MBA class for two years. I did not meet any company conduct seminar in Intercollege except it was AIM from England, once at Intercollege (Nicosia). There is a job fair but not for International MBA student (Asian). We don't exist an alumni network, if we have it, it will gain a clear message from the former graduate student situation in the real life after Intercollege's MBA.

Among the graduate, I'm the only one from Myanmar. Unfortunately,the student affair office said "sorry, nobody can carry your flag". I'm an optimist person and it's not about racism.

有三個MBA學生畢業，在2008年。很明顯，當地塞人的學生不感興趣的研究在intercollege拉納卡和他們的研究大多是在國外。此外，本地公司是不會聘請國際學生（亞洲）後，工商管理碩士學位。我已經在intercollege工商管理碩士班二年。我並沒有滿足任何公司進行研討會在 intercollege除外，它的目的是來自英格蘭，一旦在intercollege （尼科西亞）。有一個公平就業，而不是為國際MBA學生（亞洲）。我們是不存在的一個校友網絡，如果我們有，它會得到一個明確的信息，從原研究生的情況在現實生活中後， intercollege的工商管理碩士學位。

Υπάρχουν τρεις φοιτητές μεταπτυχιακό ΜΒΑ από το 2008. Είναι σαφές ότι η τοπική κυπριακή φοιτητική δεν είναι ενδιαφέρουσα η μελέτη στο Intercollege Λάρνακας και κυρίως που φοιτούν στο εξωτερικό. Επιπλέον, οι τοπικές επιχειρήσεις δεν απασχολούν διεθνείς φοιτητές (Asian) μετά MBA. Έχω ήδη στο Intercollege MBA κατηγορία για δύο χρόνια. Εγώ δεν πληρούν καμία εταιρεία διεξαγωγή σεμιναρίου στο Intercollege ήταν AIM εκτός από την Αγγλία, μόλις στο Intercollege (Λευκωσία). Υπάρχει μια έκθεση για την απασχόληση αλλά δεν for International MBA φοιτητή (Asian). Δεν υπάρχει δίκτυο αποφοίτων, αν την έχουμε, θα αποκτήσει ένα σαφές μήνυμα από την πρώην φοιτητής κατάσταση στην πραγματική ζωή μετά το Intercollege του MBA.

The general and current situation of Latputa hit by Nargis Cyclone
The whole town was devastated and all the buildings were falling
down with non-any rescuesing.the majority of locals living in Latputta
lost their homes and business and everything belonging to them, as
well as shortage of their dialy food.
Within a few days after storming ,the victims who lost their
families and villages in closed area of Latputta town have been
arriving in Latputta to rely on rescues and demand the needs in the
refugee camps. Some victims have walked across along the farming
feilds fulled with death bodies on foot two or three days.
Seriously, when arriving the Latputta, there is no proper places for
the victims prepared by the authorities carelessly.Presently, there
are main three refugee camps recognized by local authority.
At least , more than ten thousands victims are staying comtemporarly
there , sleeping on the wet ground under the miserable roofs in the
camps of the monastries and pagodas areas and some victims r staying
outside in the rain. They have no proper toilets and enough water for
drinking and cleaning up. .People doesn't have viccination for
coming-soon diseases like diarrhoea.Most of the victims r patients who
is sufferring with diseases infected before. The volunteering clinics
have no enough medicine for patients. Only the hospital is full with
the patients and it can't accept next new patients because of lack of
medicine and free beds. Volunteer doctors r cocerning about the
victims because of the air,ground and water polution cause the toilet
r pouring with human waste and flowring near by local areas.So they
want to bulid the healthy toilets to prevent the diseases.
Each victim just get a little rice for a day from goverment.Most of
the children (Orphan) r need to get nutriation.The victims doesn't
enough hygentic foods,cooking
pots,plates,spoons,clothes,mosquito-nets,temporary-roof and toilet.

You wanna come to Cyprus! Try this and I'm sure you will....

Requirement for application from Myanmar
1.PP's copy of 5 pages
2.local police recommendation
3.Bank statement around 200 lakhs it's about 15000 USD
4.College applicaiton form embedded with the certificates & Diploma
5.Recommendation of two referees
6.US$ 50 for registration.

The courier services like DHL or SPA will take two weeks to reached the college.
The college submit to the ministry of education for two weeks.
the migeration process will consider the prolongation approximately a month.
The college will request for the payment when the student approved the

visa from migeration.
Cyprus embassy was not exist in Myanmar neither Myanmar embassy exist in Cyprus.
If the student like to extend their PP, it's essential to submit to Israel or Egypt where Myanmar embassy exist.

Check with local representative such as Sunfar
YGN to BKK ( one way)
BKK to Jordan or Egypt
Jordan or Egypt to Larnaca (CYP) round trip
It took about 18 hrs flight and one of the long night.

Hold duplicate copy of the visit visa send by the college and fly to Larnaca, Cyprus.
Bring along with show money USD 2000, return ticket and duplicat copy of visa.
When the student arrived to the Cyprus, it's required to apply the alian book and pink slip at immegration.

The reqired documents are as follows;
1.College administration form
2.Accommodition rentle (rentle contract)
3.Medical check up ( cyp15){guided by college }
4.Blood test (cyp10)){guided by college }
5.Bank statement ( such as Bank of Cyprus, minimum cyp500 deposited)
6.Passport size 4 photos
7.Community president's stamp and signature ( e.g: local community senior citizen)

Ready to migration application
1.Obtain the queue ticket at migration office
2.Interview with officer and required to paid cyp20 for Alian book
Pink slip will follow after two months via the college.
Ususally,the prolonge of the student pass is six months to nine months.

It's required to extend before a month due.
Students are not allow to work except students from hotel mnagement course. The college will released the working permit to the student after second semester finished.

The duration of the course was minimum two yr to maximum 5 yrs.

The bus service is not exist at Larnaca campus. Obviously, walk or bicycle required.
The public bus no.23 which necessary to wait 30 minute for each bus leave Intercollege's Nicosia campus until 5:50 pm. If you are unfortunate like me at sometime, I've walked almost 1 hour 15 min to reach the Nicosia's resident where I've to stop for the night.
Moreover, there is the taxi service with the world's worse customer

service like travel express cost 4.50 cyp from Nicosia to Larnaca but

it's required to dail number. It's different from the local taxi which

might cost 25 cyp at the same distance. Indeed, it's one of the

obstacle for the international student to live in Cyprus.
There are not any railway track and the train transportation in Cyprus.

The international airport is situated at Larnaca city.

It will be better in S'pore rather than being studying in Cyprus.
Intercollege Larnaca, Cyprus cheated it because I will not received the Netherlands Master degree. I've realized after two courses done. When I was very consciously learned about Intercollege's brochure before I came here, I've acknowledge that the ward would grant by the Netherlands Biz school. That was one of my intentions to gain MBA from Europe. That was some kinds of cheating usually done by the Cyprus's college.

I've consciously determined because of the Netherlands business school otherwise I would not come to here. Just think about it, the divided island without any business potential and employment. Besides, I could not gain the wider exposure such as the business seminar or exhibition around in Larnaca. Moreover, the business club of Intercollege is not available to sign-in at Intercollege Larnaca. I mean that it will be tiny exposure with lack of skill in management level. It had better to study at the other countries like UK, USA, S'pore and alike. But I am going to finish it as possible as I can. I really, really, don't wanna to face the things like me for the citizen of Myanmar.
I feel like I've committed a mistake. I acknowledge that the mistakes are a part of life. I could not avoid them. All I can hope is that they won't be too expensive and that I don't make the same mistake twice.

Life in Cyprus as MBA student

I'm a MBA student and studying at Intercollege, Larnaca,Cyprus.
Just think about it, what the Cyprus collegescapable to give the quality of education for the International students.

I have grant 50% scholarship. But I must get GPA 4 for the rest of my semester otherwise I have to owe in full amount.

For example, I’ve 48 credits to finish it. Intercollege accepted for 24 credits apply with 50%. Upon my exam result which means, if I’ve got GPA 4 for every course, I’ll gain 50% scholarship again for last 24 credits.

Intercollege (Larnaca)
The six story building ( e.g: one third size of Olympic tower )

The lectures are good with full of experiences
The class-room facilities also not bad
The library have more than 50000 books as well as magazine like business week, the economics, Harvard review, Financial Time, and etc
There are 20 PCs at each two computer lab and 3 at library.
Situated in shopping district but small
The library sizes about 50ftx 70ft ( near college 2 mins walk)

Cyp pound 1 = 2.1 USD

We have rented 1 bed rm with simi furnish, in front of the intercollege, which cost CYP 245/m excluding electrical and water bill. It is a bit expensive.
Electrical and water bill would cost approximately CYP 80/m.
Gas cooker required to buy.

Food
Vegetable are cheap at the weekend market.
If you buy pork 1 or 2 kg, you can get free hears, legs and rips.

Tel-com (GSM)
Mobil-Phone and SIM cards are cheap.
Handset CYP 35 to CYP200
SIM card => Areeba / Soeasy
Add value would costs = CYP5 or CYP 10 (Get +CYP1) or CUP 20 (Get +CYP3)

So, CYP 52 you can get a mobile. It is required for many reasons.

Cars
Used Cars prices from CYP 300 / used Motorbike = CYP 120

Computer
Expensive in Cyprus, event refurbish one cost more than CYP 350 or PIII 600mhz. Internet café per hour cost CYP1.40.
Mivision provide internet TV services.

Job opportunity

The student are not allows to work. But most of them were working such as restaurants, construction and cleaning etc..
Minimum wage would be CYP10/day up to CYP 25/day, working hours is about 7 to 8 hrs. May be, difficult to hunt a job here.
The larnaca district is not a busy until summer. Hotel management students can work at summer (June – Sept).

Myanmar Student

There are more than 10 students in Alexander college two of them are girls but they were not attending the class just working. Some of them were interview with BBC at last year. That college is accepted the student and obtain the fees, not necessary to take a class.
The salary might not enough for the college fees but for living and meal easy.
Some of local people were discriminate on Asian. Chinese girls have too much bad name here because they work as call girls. According to Myanmar students, the Cypriot employers are rude and uneducated as well. It will be quite differ from others.
